For their fourth chapter together, Levi’s® and Denim Tears return to honor a living tradition. Rooted in New Orleans, this new release celebrates the artistry, resilience, and community spirit of the Black Masking Indian culture—centering the Young Seminole Hunters and Big Chief Demond Melacon.

Photographic prints capture moments of ceremonial beauty, transposed onto garments like the Photo Trucker and 568™ Stay Loose Jeans. Each image is processed with deliberate imperfection, echoing the hand-built nature of Mardi Gras Indian suits—where no two are alike, and every detail matters.

A washed black Crewneck Sweatshirt expands the collection’s vocabulary of symbols, while the Baseball Tee pairs dark green sleeves with a floral gingham body—channeling domestic textiles and communal gathering.

Completing the story: a cotton durag in all-over print and a photo-printed hat, each carrying the same intentional process that blurs the line between garment and artifact.

Shot on location in New Orleans, the campaign brings the pieces back to their point of origin—an intersection of traditions and contemporary expression, lived by those who carry them forward.
